 
        
        An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialty Doctor (ST4+) to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, focusing on neuro‑disability and neurorehabilitation.
You will be a key member of a team that includes a Medical Director, Consultants in Paediatric Neurodisability, a Consultant Paediatrician, Senior Specialty Doctors (ST4+), other Specialty Doctors, a Medical Business Manager, Medical Secretaries, and Medical Admin.

Role Requirements
The timetable and job planning will be carried out with the Medical Director, bearing in mind the requirements of the organisation. A formal job plan will be agreed between the post‑holder and the Medical Director, three months after commencing the post, and reviewed at least annually thereafter, as part of the appraisal process.
 * Contribute to the admission of new patients and provide regular medical support in consultation with the child’s consultant.
 * Conduct day‑to‑day supervision of children, attend unit meetings, arrange investigations, and write admission and discharge summaries.
 * Manage clinical cases with the support of and under the direction of the consultant.
 * Perform medical ward rounds, phlebotomy, tracheostomy and gastrostomy button changes, drug charting, and reporting.
 * Attend clinics in Psychiatry, neurology, orthopaedics, audiology, ophthalmology, dental, splint/brace, feeding, and botulinum toxin injection.
 * Develop and implement emergency protocols and serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
 * Undertake any additional duties within your skills that the organisation requires.
 * Support and participate in weekly medical team meetings.
 * Submit annual leave requests, study leave, and other required documentation to the Medical Director.
 * Attend multi‑disciplinary meetings, teaching sessions, and journal clubs.
 * Participate in service development, including policy and protocol creation and digitalisation of services.
 * Investigate complaints, clinical incidents, and near misses in line with The Children’s Trust policies using the IRAR system.
 * Work within the operational policies, procedures, and protocols of The Children’s Trust.
 * Actively participate in annual appraisal, supervision, and job plan review processes.
 * Maintain clinical CPD activity and participate in the Revalidation process.
 * Participate in clinical governance activities.
 * Engage in research activity as encouraged, with protected time allocated if required.
