Travis Baker at RSK Group is recruiting for a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join the team based in Halesowen, Birmingham. This is a full-time, permanent position.
The Geosciences team provides consultancy and design services to clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies, and local authorities. Due to growth and new projects, Travis Baker needs an experienced Geo-Environmental Engineer to support a varied workload. Details of the position are as follows:
Responsibilities:
* Participate in geo-environmental projects for external clients and internal teams
* Assist with ground investigations and desk studies
* Conduct soil logging according to UK standards, including laboratory scheduling
* Perform soil sampling and water monitoring/sampling
* Write factual and interpretative reports
* Geotechnical reporting experience is beneficial
* Knowledge of contaminated land legislation and reporting
* Travel within the UK to other offices and sites as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
* BSc or equivalent in Geology, Environmental Science, or similar
* MSc is desirable but not essential
* Working towards membership of a relevant professional body with a goal toward chartership
* Basic knowledge of planning legislation
* Experience in site inspections and reporting, preferably on residential developments
* Ability to complete factual and interpretative assessments at a basic level
* Capability to deliver projects within a multidisciplinary consultancy
* Effective time and resource management skills
* Full UK driving license
