We are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of specialist schools and alternative provisions across Cumbria, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges. Roles can include 1:1 support, small group work, or classroom-based assistance.
Whether you're an experienced TA or looking to move into SEN support, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support students with SEMH and additional needs in an educational setting
2. Provide 1:1 and group support, both academically and emotionally
3. Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
4. Assist with personalised learning plans and therapeutic approaches
5. Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
6. Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
About You:
7. Experience working with children with SEMH, trauma, or challenging behaviour
8. Resilient, calm and confident under pressure
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
10. Able to build positive and consistent relationships with pupils
11. Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are an advantage
12. Team Teach or similar behaviour management training is desirable (training can be arranged)
