SEMH Teacher Location: Sunderland Contract: Full-time, long-term Start Date: September 2025 / Immediate We are looking for a skilled and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a specialist SEND setting in South Tyneside. The Role As an SEMH Teacher, you will: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEMH and additional needs across KS2–KS4 Build safe, structured learning environments that promote trust, consistency, and confidence Use relational, trauma-informed approaches to help pupils overcome barriers to learning Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver personalised support Inspire resilience, independence, and a love of learning in every pupil About You Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) required Experience teaching pupils with SEMH or complex SEND needs (school or alternative provision) Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills Knowledge of restorative practice, Thrive, or other therapeutic approaches is an advantage Patient, resilient, and committed to inclusive education Why Join Us?
