Role
Class 1 LGV Driver for our Transport Department. You will be responsible for bulk collections and deliveries between DPD sites and customers nationwide, operating a modern fleet on approved shift patterns, and performing orders that may include live unloading, trailer swaps, and paperwork handling.
Responsibilities
* Make bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide
* Drive a modern and well-maintained fleet on agreed shift patterns, delivering to HGV-friendly locations
* Perform trailer swaps or oversee live unloading and reloading of your trailer, depending on customer needs
* Carry out thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance
* Maintain accurate journey logs, including driving hours, rest periods, and any incidents
* Adhere to road traffic laws and company policies, prioritising safe driving
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers and colleagues to ensure smooth operations
* Manage time efficiently to meet delivery schedules while complying with drivers' hours regulations
* Handle paperwork such as delivery notes and other relevant forms
* Represent DPD professionally and maintain positive customer relations
* Report vehicle faults, accidents or other issues promptly
* Participate in relevant training to stay updated with industry best practices
Qualifications
* A valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence
* Minimum 12 months Class 1 experience
* A valid UK CPC Card
* A valid UK Digital Tachograph Card
* Ability to load/unload trailers where needed
* Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and delivery routes

Hours and Location
Location: DPD London Docklands, Twelvetrees Crescent, Bromley-by-Bow, London, E3 3JG
Hours of Work: 14:15 – 00:45
Days of Work: Monday – Friday
Hourly Rate: £17.91 per hour, plus £2.72 per hour night rate (18:00 to 06:00)
Contract: Permanent, 40 Hours per Week
