Derry, Northern Ireland The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining plant equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with electrical standards, and supporting operational excellence initiatives. Key responsibilities: Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and electrical systems Diagnose and repair electrical faults on plant equipment, control systems, and automation Support rapid response to breakdowns to minimise production downtime Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC logic (where applicable) Carry out electrical maintenance on site infrastructure, including: Lighting systems (internal & external) Power distribution boards and circuits HVAC and building services systems Fire alarm and emergency lighting systems Install new electrical circuits, containment systems, and equipment Support facility upgrades, expansions, and layout changes (machines, offices, utilities) Perform electrical testing, inspection, and certification where required Assist with contractor supervision and project work on site electrical installations Ensure compliance with building regulations, electrical standards, and site policies Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and system records Please note the above duties and responsibilities are not intended to be an exhaustive list. To achieve business objectives, other duties may be included at the discretion of the line manager. Essential Skills, Qualifications/Experience: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Installation Time-served electrician / apprenticeship completed Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments preferred Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and automation (PLC experience desirable) Knowledge of electrical regulations and safe isolation procedures Experience with fault finding on production machinery and plant equipment Desirable Skills, Qualifications/Experience: Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Ability to work independently and under pressure Good communication and teamwork skills High attention to detail and safety awareness Ability to read and interpret technical documentation Strong organisational and record-keeping skills Electricians must be capable of diagnosing faults, repairing systems, and ensuring compliance with safety standards while maintaining operational efficiency Why Join us?
