Programme Manager – Engineering
Location: Central Bedfordshire College – The Incuba, Central Bedfordshire College Group
Salary: £40,000 – £46,349 per annum (DOE)
Hours: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

Responsibilities
* Curriculum Leadership – Lead the development and delivery of engineering programmes that are innovative, industry-relevant, and aligned with employer needs and strategic growth priorities.
* Quality & Student Outcomes – Drive high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment to ensure student success, progression, and achievement exceed national benchmarks.
* Team & Resource Management – Manage engineering curriculum staff, oversee recruitment and development, and ensure consistent application of college policies and performance standards.
* Teaching & Professional Practice – Deliver a fractional teaching timetable in engineering, maintain awarding body standards, and support continuous improvement in pedagogy and learner engagement.
* College-Wide & Statutory Duties – Contribute to cross-campus activities, uphold safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and engage in ongoing professional development to support college-wide initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised teaching qualification and a degree or substantial experience in an engineering discipline, with credibility in leading subject‑specific provision.
* Proven success in managing teams within Further Education, including course leadership, performance monitoring, and supporting Ofsted inspections.
* Strong understanding of quality assurance systems, data‑driven course improvement, and the ability to deliver high‑quality learning experiences across engineering levels.
* Effective communicator and team collaborator with the ability to motivate staff, influence at all levels, and maintain professional standards and boundaries.
* Willingness to travel across campuses, adapt working hours, uphold safeguarding and health & safety responsibilities, and engage in continuous professional development.
