Cygnets Art School Epsom are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and reliable new teacher to run our classes Please read all the information below before applying, as this is a part-time, freelance position, and may not be suitable for everyone.
Cygnets is a fine art school franchise for children, based in the UK. We teach traditional drawing, painting and sculpture, combined with unique projects; experienced teachers, and professional quality materials. Classes are run for ages 5-13 after school and weekends during term time, as well as every half term and school holiday.
The successful candidate will teach all classes (both term time and holiday) at the Epsom branch, for groups of up to sixteen students (assistants are provided for larger classes). As well as helping with the marketing of the business when required, such as flyering local schools and businesses.
Teachers are provided with all materials and a curriculum, including a step-by-step video for how to teach each project. This role would suit a creative individual with a passion for teaching, who's looking for well-paid work in the artistic industry, but with the flexibility of minimal hours that can fit around other commitments.
Term Time Hours:
Starting ASAP Autumn 2025:
Thursdays - 15:15 - 16:15
Saturdays - 10:00 - 11:00
Then ongoing each term (10 weeks/term | 3 terms/ year)
Holiday Hours:
Starting October Half Term 2025 (dates and times TBC)
Then ongoing each half term (3 x weeks per year); Easter Holiday (2 x weeks per year), and Summer holiday (5 x weeks per year).
Training Hours:
The successful candidate will ideally be available prior to starting to train via assisting with classes.
Pay:
£23-25 to be agreed and dependent on experience (please note this is paid for the length of the class and includes any preparation/ set up/ clear-up time. Eg a 1hr class 15:00 - 16:30 is paid at the hourly rate)
Potential additional hours and income from private tuition/ classes.
Necessary Requirements:
* Strong core artistic skills in a variety of mediums
* A passion for working with children
* Excellent reliability, time-keeping and organisation
* Must be able to travel to Epsom (KT17 & KT19)
Ideal Additional Requirements
* Teaching experience
* A knowledge of the local area and connection to local schools
