We are currently recruiting for an experienced Critical Electrical Shift Engineer to join a leading facilities management provider supporting a mission-critical data centre in Essex.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance across critical infrastructure.
Respond swiftly to electrical faults, alarms, and plant failures to maintain 24/7 uptime.
Operate and maintain critical electrical systems including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, PDUs, and HV/LV distribution systems.
Perform electrical fault-finding on power distribution systems within live environments.
Conduct switching operations (LV and HV where authorised).
Monitor and operate Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
Carry out regular plant inspections, load checks, battery testing, and thermal imaging where required.
Ensure all works are completed in line with permit-to-work systems, RAMS, and site compliance procedures.
Support planned shutdowns, client change requests, and infrastructure upgrades.Requirements:
City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or Engineering.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential).
HV/LV Authorised Person or experience working within HV environments (desirable).
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a critical environment (data centres, hospitals, banking, or similar high-availability sites preferred).
Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
Experience working on UPS systems, generators, and critical power infrastructure.
Calm, methodical approach with the ability to perform under pressure.What’s On Offer:
