The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance, celebrating 5,000 years of human creativity. Alongside major development projects across our historic South Kensington estate and our new East London sites, we are strengthening the infrastructure that keeps our visitors, colleagues and collections safe. This role sits at the heart of that ambition.
We are now seeking a Security Project Manager with strong security exposure, particularly around CCTV systems and associated security infrastructure, to support the delivery of capital and refurbishment projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career looking for progression, as well as experienced professionals seeking a meaningful role within a world-renowned cultural institution.
This is a support-focused project management role, working closely with senior colleagues, consultants and contractors to ensure security considerations are embedded across multiple estate projects. You will help coordinate activity, gather requirements, manage documentation, and support the smooth running of projects within a Grade I listed environment.
Working as part of a collaborative Estates and Projects team, and reporting directly to the Security Director, you’ll assist with planning, tracking progress, monitoring budgets, preparing reports and ensuring compliance. You’ll support operational readiness for new or refurbished spaces, with a particular focus on ensuring that CCTV, access control and other security systems are specified correctly and integrated effectively.
Security Sector Exposure – Essential:
To be considered, you must have demonstrable exposure to the security sector, ideally including:
- CCTV system operation, upgrades or installation within a public‑facing or complex environment
- Understanding of how security infrastructure interacts with wider building projects
- Working with security stakeholders such as integrators, installers or control room teams
You don’t need to be an expert, but you do need to bring genuine, hands‑on understanding. We welcome applicants at various stages of their career, provided you can show solid project management capability.
You’ll bring:
- Practical experience supporting construction, fit‑out or technical projects
- A strong understanding of project management principles, with the ability to demonstrate their use
- Confidence coordinating multiple tasks, stakeholders and deadlines
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style
- An eye for detail, structured organisation and a proactive mindset
- Willingness to work within a heritage setting and adapt to the constraints of a listed building
- A commitment to sustainability, inclusion and high standards of delivery
