We are Trismik, an early-stage startup spinning out of Cambridge University developing adversarial tests for Large Language Models (LLMs). Our mission is to provide the fastest and most accurate testing environment to add the highest value to AI engineers deploying AI applications using LLMs. We aim to help companies and researchers push the state-of-the-art in Artificial Intelligence and achieve the best chance of a human-aligned AGI.
We are seeking an early career Graduate Software Engineer to help build our Python LLM evaluation library, working closely with the Engineering and Science teams. We are open to hiring remotely within the UK.
This is a high-impact, high-ownership role as one of our first hires. You will influence our software and product roadmaps, engage with users and customers to foster platform adoption, and have a significant say in our technical direction.
Key responsibilities
As an early team member, you will work directly with the CTO, leading the development of our open source Python tools and growing our community. The ideal candidate is passionate about software and AI, with experience in LLMs, open source contributions, or personal projects. Your duties will include:
* Developing our Python open source evaluation library;
* Engaging with the community via GitHub and other channels, fixing bugs, and creating documentation;
* Collaborating with Engineering and Science teams to implement features and metrics;
* Ensuring platform security and performance standards;
* Writing high-quality, well-tested code following best practices;
* Contributing to technical roadmap and strategic planning.
You should be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, creative, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Essential qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree (graduating autumn 2025 or already obtained) in Computer Science, AI, or equivalent experience;
* Knowledge of professional software engineering practices, including coding standards, architectures, code reviews, source control, deployment, testing, and operational excellence;
* Strong Python skills.
Desirable qualifications
* Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Torch, Hugging Face) or data analysis platforms (e.g., Pandas);
* Open source project contributions;
* Community engagement experience;
* Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
