England Golf is seeking an experienced and insightful Selector to join the Women’s and Girls’ Selection Committee, helping shape the future of England’s elite amateur teams.
Appointments are initially for two years, with the opportunity to progress to a four-year term.
Purpose:
You will play a central role in selecting players for England Women’s and Girl’s squads and teams, applying the England Golf Selection Policy with fairness, consistency and transparency. Balancing current performance with long-term potential, you’ll work closely with the Performance Manager, coaches and fellow selectors to make informed, accountable decisions at the highest level of the amateur game.
Key Responsibilities:
Select squads and teams for nominated championships using performance data, rankings and observed potential
Attend agreed competitions and selection meetings
Communicate selection criteria clearly to players and stakeholders
Provide constructive feedback, particularly around non-selection
Help foster a strong, inclusive performance culture across squads
Apply the selection policy consistently and without bias
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of elite amateur golf
Sound judgement, emotional intelligence and confidence in decision-making
Ability to justify selections clearly and professionally
Excellent communication skills with players, coaches and parents
Commitment to attending required meetings and events
An inclusive mindset that values diversity and equal opportunity
