Locum Consultant Dermatologist – Mohs Surgery
Job Summary: This post is for 6.5 practice and is a fixed-term position of 12 months; it provides dermatological services across two sites – The Royal Wolverhampton Foundation NHS Trust and Walsall Manor Hospital NHS Trust.
Responsibilities
* Assist the team and ensure a commitment to high-quality dermatology services, continually developing practice in line with evidence-based standards.
* Participate in Skin Cancer MDT.
* Advise colleagues in other specialties on dermatology care.
* Provide a comprehensive outpatient service, undertake Mohs surgery and independently report slides.
* Support and teach resident and specialty doctors, medical students and postgraduate medical education.
* Encourage audit and research; support audit implementation and report outcomes.
* Maintain a high-quality service to patients.
* Engage in CPD and personal development plans.
* Provide teledermatology triage of referrals.
* Cover for consultants and senior colleagues during leave periods.
* Take part in medical audit and research as appropriate.
* Ensure clinical governance requirements are met.
* Ensure adequate arrangements for hospital staff to contact you when necessary.
Qualifications
Essential
* Full registration and licence to practise with the GMC.
* On the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT.
* Evidence of completion of a BSDS or ACMS accredited self-reporting sign-off Mohs fellowship; expect independent reporting of slides.
* Evidence of Higher Specialist Training in Dermatology (or within 6 months of confirmed entry).
* A wide experience in dermatology.
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and a multi-disciplinary team.
* Evidence of audit and implementation of change following audit.
* Proven knowledge of NHS systems and processes.
* Excellent time management and organisational ability.
Desirable
* Specialist interest in skin cancer.
* Subspecialty training or equivalent.
* Evidence of proficiency in research.
* Potential for advanced leadership and management of dermatology division.
Contract and Salary
Grade: Consultant
Pay Scheme: Hospital medical and dental staff
Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per annum
