We currently have an exciting opportunity for a midwife to join our Birth at Home Team. The team is based within the Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline and provides care for the women and families who reside in all parts of Fife.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated midwife to support women during their pregnancy journey. The midwife will be responsible for providing individualised care to a caseload of women. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in a 24 hour on call rota for birth at home, providing care for women in various settings and will be required to travel throughout Fife. Competency in perineal repair and NIPE would be advantageous.
Our Birth at Home Team provides continuity of carer for women and families during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods. NHS Fife has three community midwifery teams based in West Fife at Queen Margaret Hospital, central Fife at Victoria Hospital and North East Fife at St Andrews Hospital. The Birth at Home Team work in partnership with them and wider multidisciplinary team to support women and families during pregnancy, taking into account individual needs and preferences.
We are a dynamic, progressive and really friendly team, the unit is modern and progressive with approximately 3500 births per year. The services include outpatient and community services, a complex care Consultant Unit and an alongside Midwife Led Unit. We are developing services in line with Best Start recommendations. We are focussing on increasing our rates of continuity of carer in the first instance. We already have teams established for vulnerable in pregnancy and child protection including a perinatal mental health midwife and bereavement specialist an infant nutrition.
We will encourage you with your professional development and education via our dedicated clinical midwife educator and midwifery PEF. We have an extremely successful in house leadership programme and regularly encourage staff to participate in external networking.
You must be a NMC Registered Midwife you should possess enthusiasm, excellent team working skills with effective communication.
