Overview
We seek an experienced Embedded Software Engineer specializing in Control for Power Electronics, e-Machines, and Drives (PEMD). The role involves delivering client projects and enhancing team capabilities. Our Software, Control, and Applications group develops complex control systems for clean propulsion and energy systems, including xEV powertrains, power electronics, motors, and fuel cell systems. The focus will be on embedded software development for power electronic systems, such as electric machines and DCDC converters, with potential support in other technical areas.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop embedded software for Power Electronics, E-Machines, and Drives.
2. Own software solutions, including requirements specification, device drivers, algorithms, implementation, calibration, and validation.
3. Conduct software testing via Unit and Hardware-in-the-Loop methods.
4. Engage directly with clients and suppliers on technical issues.
5. Report technical status internally, ensuring project delivery on time and within budget.
Key Competencies and Experience
1. Degree in Engineering related to Embedded Software, Control, Electrical, Electronics, or similar.
2. Proficiency in C programming for microcontroller applications.
3. Experience developing embedded software for power electronics, including device drivers, SPI Drivers, high-frequency ADC/PWM peripherals.
4. Experience with Infineon AURIX microcontrollers.
5. Knowledge of AUTOSAR.
6. Excellent English communication skills for interactions with clients and internal teams.
7. Willingness to travel for customer meetings, on-site support, and site visits.
Desirable Skills and Experience
1. Proficiency in model-based development languages, especially MATLAB-Simulink.
2. Understanding of motor control theory, power electronic/thermal design, electromagnetic/thermal/mechanical aspects of electric machine design, and multiphysics optimization.
3. Experience in providing technical leadership in engineering projects.
4. Knowledge of functional safety standards like ISO26262.
