Overview
Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics with a Special Interest in Revision Knee Surgery. Based at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, Wexham Park Hospital, with additional sessions at Heatherwood Hospital (Ascot) in the Elective Centre accredited by GIRFT. This is a full-time post in a forward-thinking, high-performing Trust located to the west of London.
Responsibilities
* Provide a comprehensive general trauma service as part of the on-call rota at Wexham Park Hospital.
* Contribute to the Clinical Audit programme ensuring high standards of clinical governance and continual service improvement.
* Participate in the Department\'s Academic and Research activities to support innovation and evidence-based practice within the Orthopaedic Unit.
* Take an active role in the management and development of the Department, including service planning and quality improvement initiatives.
* Work collaboratively with administrative teams at Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospitals, with access to departmental administrative support.
* Engage with the Trust\'s Consultant Mentoring Scheme to support newly appointed consultants during transition into the role.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* FRCS (Tr & Orth) or FEBOT
* Full GMC Registration
* Part III of the Orthopaedic Fellowship intercollegiate examination
* Entry on Specialist Register (CCT or entry expected within 6 months of interview date)
Desirable
* Fellowship of the British Orthopaedic Association and membership of BASK group
Experience
Essential
* Minimum of 6 years training in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery
* Completed recognized fellowship training in revision knee arthroplasty surgery
* Experience of teaching clinical skills to undergraduates and postgraduates and operative skills to trainee specialists
Desirable
* Active involvement in general trauma management as it applies to Trauma & Orthopaedics
* Provider or instructor status within the Royal College Advanced Trauma Life Support System
* Knowledge and experience in practical everyday management of a wide range of orthopaedic disorders
Skills and Knowledge

* Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical and surgical problems
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Ability to organise and develop service provision
