About the Role
We’re offering an experienced, New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist the opportunity to showcase their skills and progress their career within our acute inpatient team at Hawkes Bay Hospital, primarily supporting the acute orthopaedic ward and wider surgical stream.
This intermediate‑level role involves delivering safe, effective, and person‑centred occupational therapy interventions, supporting patients through their surgical journey. You’ll manage a varied caseload, contribute to discharge planning, and work closely with whānau and the wider multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and independence. You’ll also have opportunities to supervise students, contribute to service improvement, and grow your clinical expertise.
About the Team/Service/Location
You’ll be part of a dynamic and supportive Allied Health Therapies team within Te Whata Moanarua, based at Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings. Our occupational therapy and allied health teams are passionate about:

About you
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) and current NZ registration with APC.
* Brings a minimum of 3 years clinical experience, ideally with knowledge or experience in orthopaedic and surgical OT principles.
* Is passionate about person‑focused goal setting and assessment.
* Thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys working both autonomously and collaboratively.
* Has Enable NZ Band 1 accreditation (or is willing to work towards it).
* Is proficient in Microsoft Office and holds a full NZ drivers licence.
* Demonstrates cultural competence and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
* Is physically fit to meet the demands of the role.
