Regional Sales Manager - Capital Equipment
We're partnering with a global innovator in capital equipment to appoint two Regional Sales Managers. You'll own the full commercial cycle for high-value, engineered-to-order metalizing equipment - leading complex, multi-stakeholder sales from initial enquiry through to shipment.
The Opportunities
Role A: UK, India & wider Asia (majority India)
Role B: China & Southeast Asia
Territories may be aligned to language capability where advantageous.
What You'll Do
* Travel internationally circa one week per month (generally in one block); all travel is arranged internally.
* Own the end-to-end sales cycle for capital equipment - from lead qualification, solution scoping and proposals through to negotiation, order intake and shipment.
* Develop and grow strategic accounts across your territory; build long-term, trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders.
* Prepare quotations and technical specifications to agreed margin targets; ensure proposals are commercially robust and technically accurate.
* Drive new business through targeted prospecting, channel partnerships and market development activities.
* Represent the brand at customer sites, seminars, presentations and industry events to build profile and pipeline.
* Collaborate cross-functionally (engineering, commercial, operations) to configure tailored solutions and ensure a smooth order-to-shipment process.
* Manage complex, long sales cycles (often up to 24 months) with disciplined forecasting, stakeholder mapping and deal review cadence.
What We're Looking For
* Proven international sales experience in capital equipment or engineered-to-order solutions.
* Background selling bespoke/ETO machinery or technical systems is highly advantageous.
* Consultative, solution-led selling style with the ability to navigate complex, multi-level buying groups.
* Commercial acumen: comfortable with pricing, margin management, and value-based negotiation.
* Technically credible with the ability to interpret specifications and collaborate with engineering teams.
* Resilient and organised - adept at managing long sales cycles and maintaining momentum over 12-24 months.
* Cross-cultural communication skills; confident presenting and negotiating internationally.
* Languages: Additional languages beyond English are advantageous (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin, Cantonese). Territory alignment to language capability may be considered.
Nice to have
* Engineering or technical education.
* Experience in flexible packaging or related process equipment.
Where This Role Sits
* You'll join a Manchester-based commercial team that is merging with a complementary product line headquartered in Italy - creating smaller, better-defined territories with broader product coverage.
Package & Incentives
* Base salary: up to £60,000 + Bonus 15% of base
* Benefits: Company car (grade aligned to options such as Tesla Model Y / BMW), laptop, mobile, enhanced pension, private medical (including dental & optical), life assurance (2.5x salary).
* Probation: 6 months.
* Hybrid working: Post‑probation, 1-2 days/week in the office (Manchester).
Interview Process
* Stage 1 (F2F): Sales leadership panel (including Product Line Director).
* Stage 2 (F2F): Meeting with the Managing Director.
