About the Energy Business Unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients across hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. We provide integrated engineering and project management services throughout the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction, operations, decommissioning or repowering and life extension – and help deliver the energy transition globally.
About the Role
Our office-based department provides Civil and Structural expertise across Substation, Overhead Line, and Cable projects. The role will span a diverse portfolio of work and offers opportunities for advancement within the team.
Responsibilities
* Project Management
* Design Coordination
* Client liaison
* Proposal Writing
* Scheme Costings
* Front End Engineering Design (FEED)
* Preparation of drawings for planning applications and tender packages
* Detailed Civil/Structural Design
* Cable Routing Design
* Design Coordination across multidisciplinary teams
* Preparation of Specifications
* Condition and Structural Assessment of existing structures
Desired Expertise
* Structural engineering design
* Access and highways design
* Earthworks assessments
* Flood risk and drainage design
* Overhead line and cable routing design
* Project management
* Design coordination
Prospective Candidates Should
* Be specialists or generalists (expertise in all above areas not required)
* Demonstrate willingness to tackle new challenges
* Confidently handle tasks with prior experience
* Exhibit strong written communication skills, including report writing
* Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Be prepared for client‑facing responsibilities and liaising with clients and contractors both on‑site and over the phone
Qualifications
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Working towards Chartership
