The role
The role of a Senior Underwriting Analyst at IQUW is challenging yet truly rewarding. It offers the opportunity to become a key member of a high-paced underwriting team within IQUW’s exciting new Portfolio Solutions Division.
The primary focus is to provide pre-underwriting and technical analytics support to the Lead Underwriters, while also underwriting your own business within your IQUW underwriting authority.
This includes preparing risks for underwriting, organizing submission flow, preparing rating sheets, and pre-reading underwriting information.
You will collaborate with support functions such as Exposure Management and Pricing teams to ensure a collegiate approach to risk management and pricing, applying models appropriately to individual risks. You will also perform overall book analysis, prepare statistics, and undertake various analytical tasks. The role aims to evolve into full underwriting authority over time, requiring a detailed analytical approach, strong relationship management, sales skills, organizational skills, and proactive thinking.

Qualifications, skills, and experience
* Understanding of insurance principles and their application in underwriting.
* Knowledge of IQUW’s appetite for different business types and the ability to identify desirable and undesirable risks.
* Awareness of the minimum information required for underwriting.
* Excellent relationships with brokers, coverholders, and clients.
* Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance provisions.
