Specialist College Lunchtime Assistant
Great Oaks College is a specialist independent college which is currently open to students across three sites.
The college provides further educational opportunities to students aged 19-25 with moderate, severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties, many of whom also have other needs such as physical disabilities, sensory impairments and autism. We run three Pathways: Vocational, Life and Living and Engagement for Life.
In January 2025 we are relocating 2 sites to our new main college building in Sunbury-on-Thames (Surrey).
The Life and Living Pathway is located at the Triangle in Hounslow, Engagement for Life is located in the Oaklands school (until December 2025) and Vocational Department is located at the Staines Rugby Club (until December 2025).
We are looking for:
Someone who shares our vision for developing independence for young adults with Special Educational Needs. You will be willing to support feeding and personal care, and to assist and encourage students to find ways to enjoy their leisure time. The successful candidate will understand the need to respect our students as young adults and be committed to supporting their development as they prepare for adulthood.

Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only
Scale: Inner London Pay Scale – Scale 2, Points 3-4
The full-time salary for this point is between £27,711 to £28,128 per year pro rata.
Your salary is calculated using full-time equivalent worked and is at fte.
Actual Salary: £5,455 to £5,532 per year
Contract Type: Permanent and part-time (8 hours per week), term time only (38 weeks per annum).
Working hours: Monday 11.30 am to 1.30 pm, Tuesday to Friday, 12 noon to 1.30 pm
The successful candidate will be required to attend a pre-employment induction.

Great Oaks College is a new specialist independent college new state of the art, purpose built premises located in Gresham Road, Hounslow. We are close to Osterley Tube Station and public transport routes and just fifteen minutes walk from Hounslow bus station. The college provides further educational opportunities to students aged 19-24 that have moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties or autism.
We run three Pathways within Great Oaks College. The Life Skills Pathway is for young people who need to remain in education to develop skills for supported living. The Vocational Pathway supports our students to develop the skills they require to gain employment. The Sensory Pathway supports students that have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Within this course, students are supported to develop their communication, ICT and independence skills.
