Job Description
Brakes are currently recruiting for a Functional Support Analyst to join the team, reporting into the Service Manager – Central Services.
As the Functional Support Analyst, it is your responsibility to provide 24/7 support for level 2 & 3 application support to the business. The Functional Support Analyst is responsible for preventative activity to reduce the number of incidents as well as support and develop the business systems and its users to reduce the disruption to day to day operations as a result of system issues. From time to time the functional support analyst will be called upon to do ad-hoc development work that is normally small to medium sized.
Whilst there are many technology components that come together to make a working system it is the application services that are used by the business community. It is a critical part of this role to provide those services and in doing so deliver the business outcomes.
This is a home based/remote role, with travel to the Ashford head office once per month so you must be comfortable commuting to Ashford, Kent monthly.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
* Provide 24/7 application support at level 2 and level 3.
* Maintain the application services in line with the service improvements plans.
* Play a key role in major incident resolution.
* Provide strong incident follow up through into problem management.
* Execution of various daily and weekly system monitoring, and resolution of any issues found.
* Deliver small changes and projects as required.
* Regular housekeeping checks and system policing of data in designated business areas, in order to ensure early cleansing by nominated business users.
* Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand and deliver BT to the required high standard to meet their needs, as well helping to educate and train business areas to reduce incidents and utilise systems in a smoother and efficient manner.
* Provide input into key knowledge database articles for both our 3rd parties and our own internal resolver teams and conduct or co-ordinate regular review.
* Ensure personal knowledge and exposure to the business applications remains up to date, appropriate and relevant.
About you:
To be successful in this role you need tounderstand the technology platforms in which the applications reside and be a SME for the business applications. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information to a range of audiences in a clear and confident way to achieve desired outcomes. As you will liaise with various stakeholder levels you must be able to think cross functionally to be able to derive a suitable solution to business challenges. It is essential that you have proven experience within application support and have experience working with core ERP systems as well as experience of working within, or managing outsource managed services contracts, as well as an excellent understanding and experience of interacting with other ITIL processes such as Change and Problem Management.
