Integrated Environment Planning Specialist - 32158
Are you excited by the idea of developing and delivering integrated plans across a broad range of environmental specialisms, to maximise joined‑up, data‑led improvements? The Integrated Environment Planning Team (IEP) in West Midlands Area Operations offers a fulfilling role where you will champion integrated working, spotting and acting on opportunities to bring multiple teams, workstreams and data sources together to achieve more. The role is critical to resolving the complex interlinked issues facing the environment, such as water quality, water resources, biodiversity, land management and flood risk management.
Responsibilities
* Champion integrated working by identifying opportunities to combine multiple teams, workstreams and data sources.
* Commission, integrate, analyse and visualise data to help technical teams and area leadership target resources and identify priorities.
* Draft compelling, evidence‑based, action‑oriented narratives from complex information.
* Produce clear persuasive written material and visualisations and brief senior colleagues and customers.
* Work with sister IEP teams and across operational teams to facilitate integrated actions.
Qualifications
* Analytical, open‑minded, collaborative thinking.
* Strong data literacy and visualisation capabilities, able to extract, combine and analyse data from multiple sources while respecting data quality and integrity.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills.
* Good organisational skills with ability to plan, track and deliver to set timescales.
* Understanding of environmental planning at catchment and river basin scales.
Experience & Skills Required
* Geographic Information Systems.
* Power Query.
* Power BI.
* Understanding of Water Framework Directive and catchment‑based approach (advantage).
Competencies
* Data and Information Management – experience using data to identify, plan and deliver multi‑disciplinary environmental outcomes.
* Focus on Customers and Partners – evidence of ensuring clear focus on needs of customers and partners.
* Influences and Persuades Others – ability to present a convincing case and win people over.
* Strategic Environment Planning – expected contribution to strategic environment planning in West Midlands Area.
