Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Painter to join our team. The Vehicle Painter is responsible for preparing and painting vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition or to meet customer customization requests. The ideal candidate will have expertise in surface preparation, mixing and matching paint, and applying high-quality finishes that meet safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming surfaces.
* Mix and match paint colours to ensure a seamless finish.
* Apply paint coats using spray guns and other painting equipment.
* Inspect finished work to ensure paint coverage, colour match, and overall quality meet standards.
* Perform touch-ups and refinishing as needed.
* Maintain painting equipment and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
* Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment).
* Communicate effectively with estimators, body technicians, and management to ensure jobs are completed on time.
* Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and advanced painting techniques.
Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in auto body painting is a plus.
* Proven experience as a vehicle painter or in a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of painting techniques, colour mixing, and surface preparation.
* Ability to operate spray guns and other painting tools.
* Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Good physical stamina and the ability to work in a standing position for extended periods.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Valid drivers license (preferred).
Preferred Skills
* Familiarity with waterborne and solvent-based paints.
* Experience with custom finishes and specialized coatings.
* Knowledge of vehicle body repair processes.
