The Role
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has an exciting opportunity available for an HR professional to join our People and Development Services function on a permanent full time contract.
Working as a Senior HR Advisor, and reporting to the People Services Manager (Policy and Reward team), this role will operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing a small team of HR Professionals in the People and Development Support team who oversee key administrative processes for the Force and respond to a wide range of queries as the first point of contact into the People and Development function.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to build a wide range of knowledge on people policies and processes in order to ensure the team can maintain its delivery to the Constabulary.
Effective communication skills, ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, previous experience in a similar role and demonstrating skills in leading and developing a team are a key requirement. Knowledge of IT systems including SAP, and reporting and analytical skills are also desirable.
You will need to be educated to QCF Level 6 or have work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level. You will also need to possess a Level 7 CIPD qualification or have equivalent experience to MCIPD level.
All role holders will need to undergo and maintain appropriate vetting in order to carry out the full duties of the role.
Whilst the role is contractually based at HIOWC’s Strategic Headquarters in Eastleigh, hybrid working will be available to those joining the team. Applicants must also be aware
that there will be a requirement to travel to policing sites within Hampshire and Isle of Wight as required.

Essential Qualifications
16. Educated to Level 6 OR work experience deemed to have brought the potholder to a comparable level
17. CIPD graduate (Level 7 Advanced Certificate in Human Resources) or equivalent HR experience deemed to have brought the role holder to a comparable level
Essential Experience
18. Generalist HR experience in either casework, change management or policy & reward or a comparable role/ environment
19. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with managers and the workforce with staff at all levels and an ability to constructively challenge and resolve problems accordingly
20. Good communication skills (both written & oral)
21. Understanding and working knowledge of relevant UK employment legislation
