Morgan Hunt is proud to be partnering with a dynamic institution based in the South West of England, seeking a Procurement Category Manager to join the team. You will play a pivotal role in optimising the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes within the company.
You will manage a defined category/portfolio of expenditure, ensuring compliance with relevant procurement legislation, managing associated risks, and identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency's.

Day rate: £ - £.54
Contract length: 3 - 6 months
Working arrangement: Fully remote working available
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Analyse category expenditure to develop and maintain a 12-24-month category strategy/plan.
2. Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to prioritise procurement activity and resource allocation.
3. Prepare, release, evaluate, and award competitive tenders in compliance with relevant procurement legislation and policies.
4. Analyse supply markets to understand and mitigate associated risks.
5. Act as the Procurement project lead on procurement projects, managing contracts and suppliers to optimise performance.
6. Support the development and maintenance of procurement tools, processes, policies, and training initiatives.
7. Provide professional procurement advice to internal stakeholders and help align their processes to procurement systems.
8. Knowledge of supplier markets, particularly as applied to the Public Sector.
9. Previous experience of planning, tendering, letting, managing, and measuring contracts
10. Knowledge and understanding of legislation affecting the supply of goods and services
11. Implement and adhere to effective Behaviours Framework, ensuring alignment with the organisation's values and objectives.

12. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (or working towards)
13. Degree-level qualification
14. Project Management qualification
15. Diplomatic and confident relationship builder
16. Strong negotiator
17. Procurement data analysis and interpretation
18. Experience of managing defined categories of expenditure
