What you will be doing

* Investigate complaints regarding breaches of planning control and monitor the implementation of planning permissions.
* Establish site history and planning constraints, conduct site visits, gather evidence, and interview complainants, offenders, and other stakeholders.
* Analyze evidence to assess compliance with planning regulations.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external parties, representing the Planning Enforcement Service and South Gloucestershire Council, and uphold the council's core values.

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with diplomacy and decisiveness.
* Organizational skills to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
* Confidence and competence to conduct lone-site visits.

* Occasional outside normal hours work may be required for investigations.

Interview dates: Between 15th - 26th September 2025.

Why work at South Gloucestershire Council?

* Benefits include generous annual leave (pro-rata), wellbeing support, and staff discounts on eye tests, travel, shopping, and leisure.
