Our client, a well-established engineering company, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing projects. The successful candidate will bring proven design experience, strong CAD capability, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.

Mechanical Design Engineer (Permanent)
Location: Peterborough
Schedule: Monday to Friday on-site
Responsibilities
* Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
* Produce detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
* Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacturability
* Ensure designs meet performance, quality, and cost requirements
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production and project engineering
* Support design reviews, modifications, and continuous improvement activities
* Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with company standards
* Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders as required
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
* Strong proficiency in SolidWorks
* Background in manufacturing or production environments
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
* Good communication and problem-solving skills
