Our practice is built on providing friendly, caring, and compassionate healthcare to all. We are an EMIS Web-based practice serving approximately 9,800 patients in and around Southborough. We aim to cover a minimum of 12 hours of nursing time, with Practice Nurse experience being essential.
Main Duties of the Job:
1. The post holder must work as part of a team, with the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload daily, while observing strict confidentiality rules.
2. Previous experience in primary care is required.
3. The role involves undertaking full treatment room duties, including immunisations, dressings, suture removal, cervical smear taking, and anti-coagulation management.
4. Experience in additional areas such as long-term conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD), travel immunisations, and family planning is desirable.
5. The Practice Nurse will serve as the Infection Control Lead for the practice.
6. Working in accordance with specific practice or national guidelines, the Practice Nurse will support the clinical team in delivering prescribed patient care programs.
7. The post holder must maintain registration with the NMC and adhere to its Code of Conduct, fulfilling ongoing learning requirements.
Working Hours:
We are looking to cover a minimum of 14 hours of nursing time, which can be flexibly arranged but will likely include some coverage on Thursdays and/or Fridays. Additional hours may be needed to cover annual leave and sickness, so flexibility is important.
