Senior Strategy Consultant – Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Disclosures
Join the Responsible Business team within Strategy, Performance and Sustainability to develop our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures.
The team is small with a wide-ranging remit, undertaking important and influential work to very high standards and tight deadlines. You’ll be responsible for communicating externally on Nationwide’s progress against our ESG ambitions and Mutual Good Commitments via our externally facing ESG Disclosures and other internal reporting. You’ll work with key internal stakeholders from across the business to gather all the information needed to help you communicate our achievements externally.
Working hours per week for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours. The role is based at our Swindon office and you will spend at least two days per week on site (or 40 % of your working time if part‑time). What you’ll be doing
Develop our annual ESG Disclosures and communicate progress in a clear, understandable and impactful way. Work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand progress, develop key messages, and produce internal reporting on progress towards our Mutual Good Commitments. Maintain an awareness of external ESG developments, regulatory activity and competitors to benchmark Nationwide.
About you
* Excellent communicator and narrator.
* Outstanding and proven writing skills to produce high‑quality narrative fit for external publication.
* Good understanding of the importance of being a socially responsible business and working knowledge within ESG.
* Proactive, willing to take ownership of your (and others’) work, and to drive it forward at pace to meet goals.
* Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and a self‑starter, with the ability to tackle complex issues and undertake analysis on a broad range of topics.
* Proficient at presenting thoughts to internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, and engaging and responding to queries and challenges.
* Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, able to create high‑quality materials to communicate sometimes complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.
* Team player, with the ability and willingness to share knowledge with colleagues within the business.
