Overall job purpose: We are looking for a motivated and organised Purchasing & Supply Chain Trainee to join our Supply Chain team. This role provides a development opportunity for someone interested in building a career in purchasing, planning, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting purchasing, logistics and supply chain coordination activities while learning how a manufacturing supply chain operates. Working closely with experienced members of the team, the trainee will support a range of administrative and coordination activities across purchasing, logistics and production planning functions. The role will provide valuable exposure to supplier management, order coordination, inventory management and ERP systems. This position is designed to develop practical knowledge and skills within supply chain operations and may provide opportunities for further development within the function as experience grows and business needs allow. Key Responsibilities: Support the purchasing team with the processing of purchase orders and supplier documentation. Assist with tracking supplier deliveries and ensuring materials arrive on time. Support coordination between Purchasing, Production and Logistics teams to ensure orders are prepared and dispatched in line with schedules. Help maintain accurate data within ERP systems and spreadsheets. Assist with invoice checking and basic data validation. Support logistics coordination including shipment preparation and documentation. Assist with maintaining export paperwork including Incoterms, Free Trade Agreements (FTA's), and rules of origin. Respond to internal queries relating to orders, deliveries and logistics. Assist with monitoring stock levels and support planning activities where required. Provide general administrative support to the Supply Chain team. Key objectives/KPI's The role will provide exposure to a range of supply chain activities including: Purchasing and supplier coordination Inventory and materials management Logistics and shipping processes ERP systems and supply chain data management Production planning support Through this experience, the trainee will develop a broader understanding of supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment and build skills that can support future career development within the field. List All Required Experience/ Skills: Essential: Interest in developing a career in supply chain, purchasing or logistics. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office. Desirable: Exposure to manufacturing, logistics or supply chain environments. Experience working with spreadsheets or data. Awareness of ERP systems such as SAP. List All Required Education/ Qualifications/ Training: Essential: General secondary or vocational qualifications (e.g. GCSEs, BTEC or equivalent) including Maths and English.
