The Details
Title: Early Years Instructor
Reporting to: Camp Manager
Contract: Seasonal work in school holidays.
Hours: 8.30am– 5.30pm weekdays. Full season or part season roles available, with additional hours for staff holding a paediatric first aid qualification (usually 8am– 6pm).
Summary of Position
The Early Years Instructor ensures the welfare and safety of children on camp and delivers structured sports, art, and play activities to the Early Years children – our Ultimate Activity Juniors. Activities follow the EYFS requirements, emphasizing participation and quality.
Supported by the Early Years Leader, you will have a pastoral role, being a key contact for 4- and 5-year-olds, maintaining their welfare and providing high-quality care.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepare and deliver activities for the Ultimate Activity Juniors, aged 4-5, focusing on participation, development, and enjoyment.
2. Promote welfare and ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
3. Attend a Camp Induction Day to help set up the provision.
4. Take a pastoral role as a group leader, welcoming children and liaising with the EY Leader and/or parents.
5. Supervise and engage with children outside activity times.
6. Adapt activities to meet individual needs of children from diverse backgrounds and developmental stages.

* Experience working with children aged 4-5 in sports, art, or education.
* Confident instructor, able to adjust delivery according to age and ability.
* Good organizational and communication skills.
* Flexible team player, adaptable to dynamic situations.

* Experience delivering the EYFS to Early Years children.
* Qualified to Level 2 in childcare or Early Years, or working towards a related degree.
* Paediatric First Aid (12 or 6 hours) or First Aid at Work qualification.
