What is the main purpose of the job?

As our Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our reach across key markets by establishing genuine connections with potential clients and identifying promising opportunities.

This position is designed for individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach—those who are adept at initiating conversations, challenging conventional norms, and directly contributing to building a robust pipeline. At Gaina, you will help shape the future of our business as part of a collaborative team that is dedicated to excellence, innovation, and making a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities consist of:

* Prospect & Qualify Leads: Identify and engage ideal customers using outbound cadences (calls, emails, LinkedIn) and inbound follow-ups.
* Opportunity Development: Apply structured qualification frameworks like BANT to assess lead quality, fit, and urgency.
* Own the Top of Funnel: Manage your own early-stage sales pipeline from lead generation to qualification handoff.
* Market Research & ICP Targeting: Use research and insight tools (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator) to identify high-potential accounts aligned with our Ideal Customer Profile.
* Sales Playbook Execution: Follow and continuously improve our outreach playbooks and prospecting sequences to maximise conversion rates.
* CRM Discipline: Keep detailed records of activities, engagements, and opportunity progress in our CRM – Salesforce.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with senior leaders and department heads to share customer feedback and improve messaging.
* Challenger Approach: Lead with insight— be comfortable challenging conventional thinking and reframing how prospects view their problems.
* Travel as required to fully meet the requirements of the role.

Who will I report to?

You will report to our Managing Director, forming part of the Management Team.

What do I need to be eligible to apply?

We are seeking a commercially driven individual with natural curiosity who excels at making connections and who will help drive our business growth. The ideal candidate should be comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers, proactively question assumptions, and bring energy and confidence to every interaction

They should possess a natural inquisitiveness, demonstrate resilience in the face of rejection, and have an eagerness to understand business dynamics. This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys building a pipeline from the ground up, is results-oriented, and takes pride in identifying opportunities that others may overlook.

As well as this, you are/have:

* A minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Development, Sales Development, or Inside Sales—preferably in B2B SaaS or vertical software.
* Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed outbound and qualification targets.
* Knowledge and hands-on use of modern sales methodologies like BANT or Challenger.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills—you’re persuasive, articulate, and not afraid to pick up the phone.
* Strong discovery and qualification skills—can quickly get to the heart of the customer’s pain and potential fit.
* Experience engaging prospects and targets confidently to articulate complex value propositions.
* Understands commercial concepts (ROI, customer lifetime value, cost of change/delay).
* Can identify organisational buying signals.
* Able to tailor messaging to business personas (not just technical users).
* The right mentality – a resilient self-starter who thrives on finding new opportunities.
* Curious and coachable—always learning, not afraid to ask questions or challenge assumptions.
* Organised, self-motivated, and performance-driven with a bias toward action.
* Proficient with CRMs (e.g. Salesforce).
* Familiar with prospecting tools (e.g. Sales Navigator).
* Enjoys being measured and working toward clear KPIs.
* The independent right to work in the UK.

It is not a deal breaker, but we would really like it if you can demonstrate:

* Knowledge of or experience in Gaina’s target markets
