Who You Are We are seeking an experienced Highways Inspector to join Westminster City Council on a short-term secondment. You will need to have previous experience in a similar role with the ability to hit the ground running. As a proactive and independent decision-maker, you should require minimal training, possess a strong understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), and exhibit proficiency in using Confirm software. What the Job Involves Complete routine inspections of highways, footways, street furniture, and other highway assets at required intervals. Identify and report defects or issues, ensuring timely resolution. Attend sites to assess reported faults on council-managed and privately-owned assets. Provide expert advice and guidance on highways and street works to colleagues, supporting risk identification and decision-making. By ensuring inspections are completed within deadlines, you will help Westminster City Council fulfill its statutory obligations and maintain safe, high-quality public spaces.
