We're on the lookout for a Machine Setter to join our chilled potato factory team, specifically for the backshift (Monday to Friday). This role is crucial to maintaining the operational efficiency of our chilled production lines, ensuring that our products consistently meet the high-quality standards our customers expect. Key Responsibilities
* Set up, adjust, and maintain machinery within the chilled potato factory to optimize production efficiency
* Perform routine checks and maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and reliability
* Monitor production lines during operations to identify and resolve issues proactively
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
* Collaborate with the production team to achieve production targets and quality standards
* Record machine settings and adjustments for quality assurance and continuous improvement purposes
* Provide training and support to new team members on machinery operation and safety protocols
Job Details
* Hours of Work: 14:00 - 22:30 / 16:00 - 22:30
* Rate of Pay: £12.67 - £13.73 (after approx. 12 weeks training) + 50p p/h shift allowance
* Enhanced overtime rate
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Machine Setter in a food production or manufacturing environment is highly desirable
* Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
* Familiarity with health and safety practices within a food production setting
* Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards during production
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work well in a team setting
* Willingness to work the designated backshift hours and adapt to changing production demands
