Position Overview:
The Associate Data Analyst role is to design and develop reporting both basic and advanced, data visualizations including dashboards, graphs/charts, etc. This role will be involved in all aspects of the development life-cycle, including data collection, data processing and transformation, testing and product delivery and support. Working closely with the software engineering team for both cameras and back-office processing, this role will be critical to future product offerings aligned not only to photo-enforcement but also intelligent motorway management.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Define the technology vision and strategy for big data analysis for traffic management solutions.
2. Work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, and designers to deliver an end-to-end product: from the idea phase, through collecting and assessing the data, exploring algorithmic approaches, developing, testing, validating and integrating the algorithm in the production environment.
3. Develop machine learning models encompassing data from traffic management sensors and other data sources
4. Experience working with large data sets, experience working with distributed computing a plus (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Apache Spark, etc.)
5. Develop advanced data reporting capabilities and data visualizations; combining multiple disparate data sources to gain detailed insights into photo enforcement programs.
6. Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to Business Analysts and software development teams.
7. Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
8. Interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical resources. Collaborate with Project Managers, vendors and IT stakeholders to provision estimates and develop overall implementation plan for delivery of analytics initiatives.
Qualifications
9. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science
10. Proficiency in scripting/programming languages a bonus (Python, R, Java, JavaScript, Scala, etc.)
11. SQL skills essential (MSSQL, Postgres, BigQuery, Redshift)
