Maintenance Technician
About the Role: As a CBRE Maintenance Technician, you will support the upkeep and efficient operation of small to medium‑sized buildings, plant, and equipment across our client sites in the UK. This role sits within our Engineering and Technical Services function, providing planned and reactive maintenance to ensure building systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical, electrical, and building fabric systems in line with UK standards.
* Conduct routine inspections, identify potential issues, and complete repairs promptly to minimise downtime.
* Assist with the installation, replacement, and modification of building systems and equipment.
* Manage and update work orders through the relevant Computer‑Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
* Support energy‑efficiency initiatives by ensuring plant and building systems operate effectively and sustainably.
* Ensure all works are completed in compliance with UK building regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and site‑specific requirements.
* Follow established procedures to resolve straightforward issues and communicate clearly with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
* Contribute proactively to team tasks, ensuring high service standards and timely delivery.
* Work under supervision to deliver tasks safely, accurately, and in accordance with CBRE processes.
Qualifications & Experience
* GCSEs or equivalent required; a recognised technical or trade qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant discipline) is desirable.
* Equivalent experience will also be considered.
* 1–2 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related role.
* Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including climbing ladders, working at height, and lifting loads of up to 25kg.
* Familiarity with standard maintenance routines and safe systems of work, including Permit to Work processes.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, inquisitive mindset.
