Job Description: The Fixed Income Derivatives Middle Office manage core transactional and post trade processing controls for the EMEA Fixed Income Business within Jefferies International Limited and Jefferies Gmbh. The middle office team are the focal point between the Fixed Income business (COO, trading, sales) and other teams across operations and wider corporate functions. The middle office perform transactional controls to ensure end to end processing is complete, timely, and accurate. The middle office interacts with clients and other external agents in supporting the lifecycle event processing for Fixed Income Derivative activity. The middle office are actively engaged in business, regulatory and technology driven projects. Department: Fixed Income Derivatives Middle Office Key Responsibilities & Tasks: Transactional controls – ownership of transactional controls for all Fixed Income derivative products traded by the desks, Interest rate Swaps (Fixed/Float, Basis, Inflation, OIS, Caps, Floors, CMS, FRAs), Credit Default Swaps, and FX hedges. Lifecycle event monitoring and processing - including Cashflow Confirmation, Structured Note Issuance, managing portfolio compressions, Credit Event processing. Coupon Calculations in role of Calculation Agent, Confirmation timeliness and Execution. Transaction Reporting: Investigation & resolution of breaks impacting Regulatory reporting - Mifid II, Dodd-Frank and EMIR Transaction Reporting. P&L reporting: Production of daily P&L flash. Process improvement: Identifying improvements to be made front to back. Taking ownership of issues and driving changes through to resolution. UAT testing: Engaging with product development and IT teams in the build out of new products and system functionality – defining operational processing requirements and planning UAT testing. Reporting and metrics: Monitoring KRIs and providing regular commentary on the drivers of any KRIs trending amber or red. Also providing FX Middle Office Support back up function and assisting with; FX Settlements, Confirmation of trades including CLS and reconciliation. Working with a BPO team to provide as supervisory oversight. Qualifications/ Experience: The ideal candidate will have operational experience in Fixed Income Derivatives within a middle office environment, although candidates with relevant operational experience looking for a new challenge will be considered. A good understanding of Regulatory environment – including EMIR/MIFID II, clearing landscape. Experience of MUREX, SEF’s, Markitwire and ICELINK would be an advantage. Working relationships: The candidate will face internal and external clients. Good communication skills, effective collaboration, and a can-do attitude are key attributes for success in the role. The candidate will work across both the FX and Fixed Income Middle Offices to offer a coverage of both functions.
