Your responsibilities will include:
Our Vehicle Servicing Workshop plays a key role in keeping the NZ Army moving. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
1. Servicing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles across the NZDF operational fleet
2. Completing certification and compliance work to NZDF standards
3. Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to ensure vehicles are safe and mission-ready
4. Working on a wide range of military vehicles and equipment, including MAN Medium and Heavy Operational Vehicles (MHOV), Mercedes, UNIMOG, and Pinzgauer vehicles within the NZ Army and Regional Equipment Pool (REP) fleet
About you:
5. Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
6. Minimum Class 1 & 2 driver licences
7. A good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
8. Ability to work to a high standard with minimal supervision
Special Requirements:
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Defence Security Clearance by meeting one of the following criteria:
9. A NZ citizen, OR
10. A NZ Permanent Resident who has resided in NZ for the past 5 years OR
11. A citizen of Australia, Canada, UK or the USA who has a current work permit for NZ
You will also be required to undergo pre-employment activities including drug screening and vetting by NZ Police.
