What you will be doing
You will be working with men and women in specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries, alongside addressing conditions like depression, self-harm, physical health concerns, and psychological distress including trauma.
As an Assistant Psychologist, you will assist with assessments, formulations, and treatment for our service users, under the supervision of the Senior Psychologist. You will also assist in clinically related administration, including conducting audits, collecting statistics, developing audit and research projects, teaching, and project work.

As an Assistant Psychologist, you will be:
* Contributing to psychological assessments and formulations
* Facilitating psychological interventions on a 1:1 and/or group basis to service users, monitoring and reporting upon their effectiveness
* Assisting in designing and delivering specialist training to others
* Assisting with the delivery of reflective practice for staff
* Maintaining clinical databases
* Completing outcome measures
* Writing reports for various audiences
* Conducting service evaluations and other research tasks, including collecting, analyzing, and reporting statistics
* Undertaking clinically relevant audits
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A minimum of an upper second-class honours degree in Psychology, conferring eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
* Experience working as an Assistant Psychologist in a forensic and/or mental health setting in a similar role
* Experience maintaining office systems and undertaking administrative tasks
* Creative thinking, clinical efficacy, and a strong commitment to evidenced-based therapeutic interventions
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Compliance with professional practice standards, including HCPC standards of conduct, performance and ethics, and the BPS code of ethics and conduct
