This role is responsible for the implementation and support of Police Scotland’s communications infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure the communications infrastructure supports the needs of Police Scotland and other external partners, and provide a comprehensive communication system support service on a 24/7 continual basis.
The ideal candidate will be educated to HNC level in a relevant Electronic or technical discipline, or possess an equivalent professional industry qualification in a related technical discipline, or a combination of technical qualifications and relevant experience. They must have experience in customer facing engagement and development and delivery of communications to technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities and Requirements
* Implementation and support of Police Scotland’s communications infrastructure
* Comprehensive communication system support service on a 24/7 continual basis
* HNC level in a relevant Electronic or technical discipline, or equivalent professional industry qualification, or combination of technical qualifications and relevant experience
* Experience in customer facing engagement and development and delivery of communications to technical and non-technical audiences
* Significant experience of delivering and supporting technical communication systems along with knowledge of ICT technologies and current health & safety practices
* Proven experience in a technical role related to the design, development and the maintenance of ICT communications services
* Strong analytical skills and ability to work on customer sites, craft and deliver communication messages to technical and non-technical audiences
* Self-motivated, discrete and confident, with ability to use own initiative and deal with a varied programme of work
* Ability to handle tight and multiple deadlines
Police Scotland offers a range of benefits, including a competitive salary and the opportunity to work on an agile basis. This is a full-time, temporary post that requires Management Vetting, and the successful candidate will work 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am–5pm, with an On-Call rota for Mission Critical systems.
A driving licence is required for this role.
