About This Opportunity Your work environment : We are looking for Shift manager for our Wisbech Plant in Cambridgeshire. 2 Shift Rotating Pattern of early and late shifts. Monday to Friday working. You will ultimately lead a team of employees, through your Team Leader, Universal Mechanics, Engineers, Electricians & Quality support team members. Ensuring the correct allocation of tasks to skills, resulting in achievement of daily and weekly plans and targets, in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of a manufacturing shift. All the while, developing your team members. Your mission in Eviosys Our future Shift Manager will join the manufacturing team to support the Production Manager. Following a period of training, you will be responsible for a team of shift employees, you will ensure the achievement of plans and targets which result in an efficient and cost effective operation. Responsibilities include the day to day management of the shift employees, with a specific focus on production, as well as leading and developing them in accordance with the local HR policies and corporate procedures. A safety first approach is essential and previous experience of operating with a continuous improvement approach to the resolution of challenges would be advantageous. Attention to detail with regards to quality of product is critical and this focus must be followed through with your shift teams. About You This role is based in a unique fast-paced environment and in order to succeed, the successful candidate, likely to be an industrial or mechanic engineer, will need to be passionate about their work, have a self-motivated approach to all tasks and possess excellent and proven people-management skills. You will have outstanding communication skills as you will be expected to manage communications and feedback to employees and manager’s alike. You will have previous people manager responsibilities and worked in the manufacture of product within a high speed and high volume of production. You have a good level of English. Comprehensive training will be given to the successful candidates. The plant operates in two shifts from Monday to Friday. Ensuring personnel and food safety risks associated with manufacturing are identified and managed in accordance with company procedures. People Lead the shift team in focusing on throughput and production targets and KPI’s, achieve daily and weekly plan attainment, have ownership of the weekly and daily labour plans. Managing all resources throughout the shift to ensure rapid response to supply chain requirements, breakdowns, and changeovers, whilst minimizing downtime. Carrying out trend analysis of breakdowns to best utilize and manage shift engineers’ skills and abilities. Coach and motivate all employees on shift to optimise and standardise safety, quality, service, and cost. Fostering an effective and empowered team-working environment, encouraging flexibility and continuous learning and improvement. Recruit, induct and develop production team members in accordance with labour plans and department budget. Ensure clear communications, consultations and any required dispute resolution happens you’re your direct reports and/or their representatives. Quality Manage and authorise isolations and out of specification product, working closely with quality support to find root cause analysis of the issues with product. Cost Seek and exploit opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational performance, ensuring the product release target of under 24 hours is achieved at all times. Support plant management of the DRM and HFI – controlling and reducing the levels Plant wide responsibility outside normal office hours during Duty Exec Rota periods.
