The Role
Planned and reactive service and maintenance of generators, fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs, travel to customer sites in a company van, collaboration with coordinators for efficient planning, accurate recording of all work using the bespoke management system, participation in the regional on‑call rota (~1 in 6), and adherence to company H&S, environmental and quality management systems.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive service and maintenance of generators.
* Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs.
* Travel to customer sites in a company van.
* Collaborate with coordinators for efficient planning.
* Record all work using the bespoke management system.
* Participate in the regional on‑call rota (approx. 1 in 6).
* Adhere to company H&S, environmental and quality management systems.
Qualifications & Experience
* Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
* Previous generator experience highly advantageous.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical components (engines/alternators).
* Experience in a mobile engineering role desirable.
* Ability to conduct risk assessments and work safely.
* Strong communication skills, confident liaising with customers face‑to‑face and over the phone.
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
