We are the AI that is powering commercial buildings to net-zero. We're on a mission to significantly reduce carbon emissions from commercial buildings, and we're seeking a passionate BMS Engineer to join our cause.
We spend our days dealing with energy data for some of the most interesting commercial building operators. You will be part of the team responsible for gathering, organising and communicating information about our customer sites both internally to the software and data science teams and back to the customer. In this role, you’ll support the team extracting and managing data to help build energy management products for our customers. You will be responsible for all technical aspects of the onboard across your assigned projects, focusing on data egress and hardware and comms enablement of buildings where required.
This is a high-paced, reactive role where you will be exposed to a wide range of business and commercial customers. The work will be varied and you will be given the opportunity to take on strategic development to improve the efficiency of our products focussing on hardware and installation improvements.
We are looking for someone who will deliver a great onboarding experience for our customers and also ensure our data is consistent and accurate. Successful enablement of Grid Edge smart building solutions to time, cost and quality
● Installation Surveys, configuration, and maintenance of BMS equipment - mainly with the Tridium Product range and mobile connectivity devices for GE Service delivery.
Client and contractor training and onboarding
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on BMS components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate BMS into overall facility systems.
Document detailed site specific building knowledge required to allow us to successfully ingest data, set performance, comfort constraints and identify inefficiencies using data. Document how energy is used in the building subsystems we aim to optimise. Taking backups from BMS Systems and Review of Site Assets.
Responsible for creating a robust delivery plan for assigned buildings with clear tasks, dependencies and accountabilities that is tracked daily through to successful delivery to time, cost and quality. Provide clear requirements, dependencies and support for contractors to successfully complete hardware installation and IT communication links back to Grid Edge in an efficient way. Proactively assist contractors with technical support during the installation process. Hold contractors accountable against their deliverables and communicate any customer impacting issues.
Aim to become the onboarding lead in ensuring data is egressing from client's system to Grid Edge. Provide clear data requirements, tools and processes to customers, partners, suppliers and the Grid Edge teams that enables easy integration of hardware data into the Grid Edge platform. Ensuring that all enablements adhere to Grid Edge product and data standards, enabling data ingestion to be as smooth and trouble free as possible.
Document the layout of buildings and energy infrastructure to provide a detailed map of the incoming data set that is tagged successfully to the standard Grid Edge standards.
Responsible for pro-active management of third parties to ensure successful enablement of assigned buildings to time, cost, quality.
Take ownership and manage service escalations to a satisfactory conclusion, where hardware, communications, data structure or data tagging may be problematic.
Successfully train customer stakeholders on how to utilise the Grid Edge system successfully after building enablement is completed. Own and manage customer relationships from the point of sale through successful implementation.
Collaborate closely with other teams including Product Managers as well as with a wider team of Software Engineers, Data Scientists, UX experts to ensure customer satisfaction.
In-depth knowledge of Building Management Systems and HVAC systems.
Relevant qualifications in engineering or a related field.
Experience in structuring data outputs
Networking and remote Sim based connectivity a real bonus as is exposure to JSON and MQTT communication
Experience in facilities, building management or civil engineering (with buildings)
Good general business acumen and commercial awareness
Innovative and take risks to create new processes and create efficiencies
Salary Range: up to £55,000 full-time equivalent salary, dependent on experience
