Early Shift 0600 - 1400hrs - Must be available to work Monday - Saturday or Sunday to Friday ( Sunday pay rate £30.66 per hour)
As a Parcel Hub Shift Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of your assigned shift. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring all shift activities comply with safety requirements and continuous improvement principles
* Managing shift budgets and performance across people, customer, operational, and financial scorecard areas
* Developing and executing shift workplans, ensuring optimum resourcing against forecasted workloads
* Maximising automation throughput and managing efficient induction, outfeeds, and cross-dock operations
* Collaborating with Shift Flow and Engineering Managers to minimise downtime and drive performance
* Conducting regular team performance reviews and ensuring real-time performance visibility
* Working with Trade Union representatives to build strong partnerships and create a positive work culture
* Leading shift-based change projects using structured project and risk management methods
* Acting as the Designated Person in Control (PIC), when required
✅ What We’re Looking For: To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
* Proven experience managing large-scale operations, ideally in an automated environment
* Strong planning and project management capabilities
* Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and drive performance improvements
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
* Confidence in leading change and deploying Continuous Improvement methods
* Resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative leadership style
* Experience in second-line management with strong team leadership capabilities
* Solid IT skills and budget management experience
* PIC training (or willingness to undertake it)
* Ability to work with and interpret complex system data
