A well-regarded primary school in Loughton is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This is a full-time position starting immediately, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on a child’s learning journey. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support, helping the child to engage, progress, and thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
* Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning.
* Implement behaviour and learning strategies under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher.
* Support social and emotional development, promoting positive interactions with peers.
* Monitor and record progress, sharing feedback with teaching staff and parents.
* Contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children with SEN (Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs desirable).
* A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
