Job overview
The Speech and Language Therapy Team in Specialist Children's Services is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Speech & Language Therapist.
This post is a bank role. The successful applicant will be able to do a variety of roles within Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy.
The post holder will benefit from close working relationships within the Speech and Language Therapy team as well as multi-disciplinary relationships as part of a wider integrated Specialist Children's Service.
There will be a requirement to have access to own transport.
Main duties of the job
* To independently manage and provide a highly specialist SLT service for children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs within HDFT's footprint. The children are aged 0 to 19 years and attend special schools as well as mainstream schools and nurseries in the area.
* To provide consultancy / advisory service to SaLT therapy staff within Specialist Children’s Services.
* To provide highly specialist training to other professionals relating to communication.
* To allocate clients, design therapy programmes and provide clinical support and supervision to Speech and Language Therapy Assistant Practitioners and SaLT’s.
* To establish and maintain the quality of the paediatric SLT service through working towards best practice and developing clinical governance alongside the Principal SLT.

Qualifications & Experience
* Speech and Language Therapy Degree [or equivalent]
* HCPC registration
* Driving licence and access to own transport
* A broad clinical experience within specified client groups - Management of children with SLCN
* Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist
