The Faculty of Medicine School of Clinical and Experimental Sciences, supported by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (HIOWH), is looking to appoint an Associate Professor / Senior Clinical Lecturer in General Psychiatry.
Successful candidates should have previously won external funding and have a strong record of research and publication. They will develop a research programme with support from clinical and laboratory‑based colleagues and be expected to secure external funding covering approximately 50 % of their salary beyond the first three years. They will contribute to academic leadership within the Faculty and Trust, enhancing the quality of research, enterprise and teaching, and will undertake clinical duties that improve the practice of psychiatry within HIOWH. Research interests include affective disorders, alcohol use disorders, behavioural addictions, dementia, psychopharmacology, neuroimaging and psychoneuroimmunology.
The role requires a primary medical qualification and full registration with the GMC or an equivalent organisation, an MRCPsych or a comparable recognised qualification, completion of specialist training in general psychiatry, and a PhD, DM or equivalent relevant higher degree.
An Enhanced DBS Check will be required for this role.
