Principal People are working with a leading infrastructure contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor covering projects primarily between Bournemouth and Worthing. This is a hybrid role with regular travel to sites across the region with most of your time spent on site and flexibility to work from home when not visiting projects. You will provide hands-on health and safety support to site teams, working closely with operational staff to drive standards on the ground. The role is relationship-led. You will be visible on site, influencing behaviours, challenging where needed, and helping teams embed a positive safety culture across a diverse project portfolio. Conducting site audits and site inspections. Conducting and assisting with incident investigations when required. Providing advice and support to all departments. Building positive relationships with on-site teams to drive forward a positive health and safety culture. The Successful Candidate will hold: NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate as a minimum. Experience within construction or infrastructure. Proven experience working around underground services and service avoidance. (Desirable) Strong working knowledge of plant operations and lifting operations. (Desirable) Experience in confined spaces and working at height. (Desirable) The type of person we are looking for: Collaborative and team-oriented. Comfortable operating within a large organisation with established systems and processes. Able to manage and prioritise their own diary with a high level of autonomy. Confident acting as a support function while driving standards forward. Practical and delivery-focused, not someone looking to overhaul existing frameworks.
