Position Summary
The Project Engineer reports to the Engineering Managerand is responsible for the successful (safe, on time, with highquality and on budget) execution of Engineering deliverables inrespect of Client and Product/Process Development Projects. TheProject Engineer can also be requested to support execution ofproposal engineering work as necessary and should meet all requiredcriteria including the following:-
* Individual contributor whoworks under limited supervision.
* Manages and navigatesambiguous projects with minimal support from more experiencedengineers.
* Considered an experienced professional withadequate understanding of one's own job area.
* Can providesolutions to a variety of technical problems of moderatescope/complexity.
Duties And Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
* Review and understand the Clientrequirements and the Engineering scope in a given project.
* Translate the project requirements into an Engineering execution plan.
* Lead the execution of product design, analysis and designvalidation tests, including reports, calculations, drawings proceduresetc.
* Interface with Clients as necessary to resolveinterface issues and justify Oceaneering's technical solutions.
* Support other un-planned activities, as necessary.
* Interface and support other functions to enable a successful(safe, on time, with high quality and on budget) project execution.
* Use CI techniques to eliminate waste in project executionprocess.
DESIRED
* Identifyopportunities for improvement of Oceaneering's products and/orprocesses.
* Support the execution of Product and/or ProcessImprovement Projects, as necessary.
* Support/Mentor/Coachteam members as necessary and appropriate.
* Participate inHSE Awareness - Observation Cards, HSE Safety Suggestions.
* Effectively use all systems related platforms to manage thefundamentals of the role.
* Provide meaningful data to thebusiness leaders to drive improvement and align with the strategicdirection.
* Support the customer satisfaction and loyaltyprocesses.
* Support the organization's drive towardsexcellence in Health and Safety performance.
* Supportincludes but is not limited to conducting Stop observations andattending HSE related meetings.
* Consistently displayrequired levels of engagement and a positive can-do attitude whileconsistently supporting Oceaneering culture of Safety, Quality,ongoing learning and continual improvement.
* Carry out anyother duties/tasks/requests in accordance with our business needs.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
* An undergraduate college or university degree in an engineeringdiscipline is required
* A strong candidate with a non-degreequalification may be considered for this position providing they candemonstrate relevant experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrable experience as either a Project Engineer or ProposalsEngineer in an engineering organisation.
DESIRED
* Experience working in the Oil & Gas or related industryis desirable. Subsea or Offshore Engineering experience is highlydesirable.
* Lean / Six-Sigma experience will be aconsiderable advantage - ability to demonstrate application ofimprovement techniques and successful results will be required. Designfor Six-Sigma (DfSS) will also be considered.
* Previousexperience in a cables, umbilicals or flexible risers manufacturingenvironment.
